McKinney Vento
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a federal law that ensures that children and youth experiencing homelessness have the same access to free public education as other children. The law requires local educational agencies (LEAs) to provide homeless students with the same educational opportunities as other students, including public preschools.
